Filipino Lasagna

You ever crave lasagna… but make it Filipino? 🇵🇭🧀
This skillet lasagna is savory, sweet, creamy, cheesy, and honestly way too easy to make. The real MVP? Goldilocks Filipino spaghetti sauce. It’s already packed with that signature sweet-tangy flavor, seasoned meat, and hot dogs we all grew up loving. 😮‍💨

One pan. Layers of creamy béchamel. Soft noodles. Gooey mozzarella. Pure comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1 container of Goldilocks spaghetti sauce

  • 1 green bell pepper

  • 1 whole garlic

  • ½ onion

  • 4 fresh basil leave

  • 1 package of dry lasagna noodles

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 4 tbsp flour

  • 2 cups whole milk

Bechamel Sauce

  • 4 Tbsp butter

  • 4 Tbsp flour

  • 3 c whole milk

Instructions

  1. Dice the vegetables and sauté in a large pan until softened and fragrant.

  2. Add the Goldilocks spaghetti sauce and mix thoroughly.

  3. Tear in fresh basil leaves and stir everything together.

  4. Layer in some béchamel sauce, then add a layer of dry lasagna noodles.

  5. Add another layer of béchamel sauce and continue layering as needed.

  6. Cover and bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes, until the sauce thickens and the noodles soften.

  7. Remove from the oven and top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  8. Bake uncovered for about 5 minutes, until the cheese fully melts and gets nice and bubbly.

  9. Let it rest briefly, then slice and serve.

Cheesy, saucy, and pure comfort food energy.

    Bechamel sauce

  10. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  11. Whisk in the flour to create a roux. Keep stirring for about 1–2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste without letting it brown.

  12. Slowly pour in the warm milk while whisking constantly. Take your time here — that’s how you keep the sauce smooth and lump-free.

  13. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens, about 5–10 minutes. You’re looking for a creamy consistency that coats the back of a spoon.

  14. Season with salt, black pepper, and a small pinch of nutmeg if you want that classic béchamel flavor.
